Twilight is the period of time before sunrise and after sunset, in which the atmosphere is partially illuminated by the sun, being neither totally dark or completely lit.
There are 3 types of twilight, Civil, Nautical, and Astronomical.
The capture here was done at the Civil Twilight, where the sun is 6 degrees below the horizon. During this twilight, the brightest stars and planets can be seen, like Venus here.
Nautical twilight is when the sun is from 6 to 12 degrees below the horizon. Astronomical twilight is when the sun is 12 to 18 degrees below the horizon.
