The Omega Nebula, also known as Messier 17 (M17), the Swan Nebula, or the Horseshoe Nebula, is a massive star-forming region located in the constellation Sagittarius. Situated about 5,000 to 6,000 light-years from Earth, it is one of the brightest and most massive star-forming regions in our galaxy. The nebula spans about 15 light-years across and is composed of glowing ionized hydrogen gas, which gives it a distinctive reddish-pink hue in optical images.

I captured this image from my backyard using a dedicated astronomy camera and an 11" telescope.
